This website was created by concerned residents of Knightstown, IN
for the simple purpose of gathering names and emails of fellow residents who oppose any form of Annexation.
The city of Knightstown, Indiana is desiring to annex parts of Henry County
to become a part of the city of Knightstown.
Such an annex would have negative and costly effects on all residents.
This annex is being proposed through granting the city of Knightstown
"Land Use Rights" outside its current city/town limits.
For all practical purposes this is the first step toward legal annexation.
Such annexation may result in forcing rural residents currently on private wells and septic systems to pay sizable fees in the near future to "hook up" to Knightstown municipal sewer and water services.
For residents who oppose such annexation there is convenient legal recourse.
In the state of Indiana, a legal remonstrance, governed by Indiana Code 36-4-3-11, is a written objection to such a proposed annexation or other action(s) by a municipality, filed by property owners in affected areas, requiring a specific percentage to be signed.
Are you a property owner that would be negatively affected by such an annexation?
Are you willing to take a convenient step to prevent such an annexation?
If you answered YES, then you've come to the right place.
